Perry and his girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, christened their new arrival

Oprah Winfrey was there in full effect as Perry and his girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, christened their new arrival and only child, Aman Tyler Bekele-Perry, on Sunday in Beverly Hills. The OWN chief, along with legendary actress Cicely Tyson, was named one of the little one's godparents at the star-studded event.

Perry, 45, even arranged for Grammy-winning singers Jennifer Hudson and Yolanda Adams to sing solos on the happy occasion.

"These pictures are from our son's christening yesterday," Perry posted on Facebook. "Christening him in the gospel. I had this church built in my backyard. It's almost a direct replica of the one my Mother grew up in. It was in her honor. I know she was with us in spirit. Thank you to all our family and friends for joining us." He continued, "What a special day. Thank you Oprah, Oliver, and Cicely. I know my son has great Godparents. To be born in love is a beautiful thing."

Perry's guests seemed to enjoy themselves, too, judging by the Instagram photos they shared of the day. Oprah described the ceremony as "so beautiful to witness," while Hudson called it "the most beautiful Sunday with... lovely people!"
