CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Wells Fargo announced Thursday it is making a $100,000 donation to the Palmetto Project in support of the Lowcountry Ministries - Reverend Pinckney Fund.

The Lowcountry Ministries - Revered Pinckney Fund was created by the Palmetto Project, a non-profit organization, to support the ongoing ministerial work started by Sen. Clementa Pinckney.

Pinckney, who served as pastor of Emanuel AME Church, was one of the nine victims of the fatal shooting that occurred inside the church on June 17.

According to a release from Wells Fargo, "The $100,000 grant will specifically support counseling services for families, survivors and church members, and local initiatives serving vulnerable populations, youth projects, and diversity and inclusion training, with a focus on ending racism."

The fund was created in coordination with the City of Charleston, which established the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund to provide financial support to the families of the nine victims.

In the past several days, Boeing, SCE&G and the Carolina Panthers have also donated $100,000 to support the victims of the fatal shooting. BlueCross BlueShield of SC donated $75,000, and will match employee contributions up to $25,000.
