Paulette Woods Honored For 36 Year Career In Public Service

Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams issued a proclamation honoring Paulette Woods for her 36 years as a public servant in Erie County.

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams issued a proclamation honoring Paulette Woods for her 36 years as a public servant in Erie County.

Paulette Woods has lead a distinguished career in public service that began when she was hired by Erie County Executive Ed Rutkowski to serve in the Budget Division as a Senior Budget Examiner, the first African American to do so. She went on to serve as Chief Fiscal Officer for the Erie County Youth Detention Service Department, as well as for Erie County Youth, Detention and Probation Departments.

In addition, she is a veteran of the United States Military, serving 6 years in the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) and 2 years in the inactive reserve.

Recognizing there are additional ways she could serve her community, Paulette Woods has been active member of several organizations including the NAACP, the We Are Women Warriors Empowerment Group, the University Ward Democratic Committee, the Black Chamber of Commerce and served as Commander of the Jesse Clipper American Legion Post #430. She also serves as an ordained Elder at FellowshipWorld Church under the leadership of Bishop John H. Young, Sr..
